The Friendship Window Appeal
The Window is a great example of 20th century stained-glass representing seven kinds of friendship and the lasting relationship between true friends. Designed in 1933, It was dedicated in 1934 to life-long friends Frank and Anne Harvey of Glanmor and Rev'd William Hosburgh M.A, 1st vicar of St. Elwyn's. The window is a key part of the church and covers over 70 percent of the "Great West" wall of the church.
Please give your support and help us with this project
Unfortunately due to its size, and the direction it faces, the Friendship Window takes a lot of abuse from the elements, and now after nearly 70 years needs pains and stonework replacing. We are over half of the way to the money we need to have the work done, but there is still a long way to go, so any donations toward the fund are greatly appreciated. More history on the window is available in the excellent illustrated history and guide to St. Elwyn's by Georgina Schofield.
Thank you!
Click here for a front page Cornishman feature on our previous Team Rector, Tony Neal, and the window. Unfortunately, as can be see from the scale on the rightt, not all offers of donations at that time were fulfilled.
Your generousity would be most appreciated either by organising or taking part in a fund raising event or simply by making a donation. Team Office Telephone 01736 754866.
