This church serves the rural community surrounding Gwinear village, and also the vibrant villages of Wall, Reawla and Carnhell Green. A traditional church fete is held every summer in the grounds of the old vicarage, and Plough Sunday and Harvest are also important occasions in the church calendar, celebrating the traditional farming activity within the parish - a Lammastide service is held each year at a different farm in the parish, to mark the first harvest of the year. Gwinear Church is one of Cornwall Wildlife Trust's designated Living Churchyards, which involves careful management of the site, while also encouraging wildlife habitats. It can seat up to 350 people.
