St Elwyn's Church, Hayle

St Elwyn’s Church
East Terrace
Hayle
TR27 4JT

The church has served the people of the Foundry area of Hayle, close to the harbour and the beach, since 1870, although services were held in St John's until the present Grade II* listed church was built between 1884 and 1886. It was dedicated to the 5th century Irish missionary St Elwyn the Martyr. The church observes the Anglo-Catholic tradition, with incense being offered, and the Angelus said, at the 9.30am Sunday Eucharist and other church festivals. The acoustics at St Elwyn's are excellent, which makes it an ideal location for concerts The church can seat up to 350 people.
